In front of the camera we are all characters. The physical and psychic features that distinguish us from others and make us unique beings, especially the sum of contradictions that constitute our life struggle, vanish before the photographer’s camera. Frozen in an instant, that vital flow that encourages us is coagulated in time and allows the face to become mask and the presence of the body, the equivalent of a historical text that perhaps, later, some apprentice sage will want to interpret.
